A quick reminder of what is happening at the Club over the next few days.
Today (Friday) sees our four intrepid volunteers - Fliss, Nick, Debs & Dave - embarking on the first day of their RYA Dinghy Instructors' Course. The conditions are not great, so think of them. It is forecast to brighten up later, so if you do feel like a sail or pottering down to the Lake, people will be around.
The weather for the rest of the Bank Holiday Weekend is looking to be warmer and drier, with a Force 2-3 NE breeze. Perfect for sailing!
Saturday sees the first of our Race Training sessions, starting at 11.30 am. Three people have already signed up but more are welcome. The session will probably run for a couple of hours. Safety Boat cover will be available from 10.30 am - 4.30 pm.
On Sunday, we have three races in the morning, with the first start around 10.30 am. These count towards the day prize of Hot Cross Buns (there should be plenty to go around, even if you aren't sailing) and the start of the Easter Egg Trophy series. The race results also count towards the Early Series. The third race of the day will be a pursuit race, with the slowest boats starting first and, in theory, everyone finishing about the same time. In the afternoon, we are holding an Improvers' session from 2 - 4pm. We are planning on providing some guidance on rigging, launching and general sailing skills but will be happy to run through anything that anyone would like covered. A couple of people have indicated that they would like to attend but please come along if you are interested.
The Easter Egg Trophy series continues on Monday, with a further three races, starting at approximately 10.30 am. Overall positions are based on one's best five results out of six races. Please note, that there is no Safety Boat cover scheduled for Monday.
Hope to see you on the water.
