The last three races of the St Edmundsbury Sailing & Canoeing Association’s Autumn Series were held at Lackford Lake, on Sunday. Although competitors were greeted with a flat calm, the breeze picked up during the day to provide a pleasant day’s sailing.

Jon Holmefjord, sailing a Laser, showed mastery of the conditions and notched up three firsts, while Debs Steele (Topper) took two seconds and a third and James Denny (Topper) took two thirds and a fourth.  Melanie Nichols, crewed by Graham Newton, did well to take two fourths at her first attempt to race one of the Club’s Wanderers.

Next Sunday, sees the start of the Club’s winter series, which runs until the 23rd November.
