The Trailer Park

Postby Abby » Sun Feb 22, 2009 6:55 pm

Hello
Last year we asked if everyone who leaves a road trailer at the club would mark it so that it was clearly identifiable - and some people have - THANK YOU!!.

In advance of the Working Party this Spring, I am going to repeat my request. At the Working Party I am going to spend time putting the marked trailers in the best spots, moving the 'visually roadworthy' to another prime location, and the visually unroadworthy to the 'dead' pile.

For the Autumn Work Party any trailers left languishing over the summer on the dead pile will be considered scrap - otherwise we end up with areas of the Club looking literally like a tip. By next Spring 2010, any trailers left unnamed and unclaimed will be considered abandonned and will move to Vicky's Boat and Chandler Brokerage.

If you have a trailer please mark it. If you know anyone with an unmarked trailer please pass this on.

Thanks Abby

IF YOU HAVE TRAILER STORED AT THE CLUB PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE.

It was good to see so many people at the Club today for the working party - it looks great!

As promised I spent some time in the trailer park and here's the deal. Up on the Bosun's Notice Board you will find a list of trailers, and a couple of trolleys, "Green" and "Blue".

The roadworthy and obviously used/owned trailers now all have a Green Sesca sticker, with a number, on the right mud guard. Please check your trailer for the number, and then add your name to the list. Thanks very much. iF THEY REMAIN UN-NAMED AND UNCLAIMED MAY BE SOLD NEXT YEAR.

The trailers that look roadworthy, but don't look like they have been used for awhile have a Blue Sesca sticker, with number on the right mud guard. If you recognise your trailer, and you want to hang on to it, then please add your name to the list and make it clear you want it and will maintain it.

TRAILERS ON THE BLUE LIST THAT ARE UNCLAIMED BY SPRING 2010 WORKING PARTY WILL BE SOLD WITH PROCEEDS TO CLUB FUNDS.

The trailers that had frozen wheel bearings, missing wheels, rotten steel etc. are in plain view on the dead pile. There will also be photos of them up on the web shortly. If you recognise your beloved trailer in the dead pile it is up to you to reclaim it. There will be some stickers available on the Bosun's board, please lable your trailer, add your name to the list, and move it back to the proper trailer park. AT THE AUTUMN WORK PARTY THOSE LEFT ON THE DEAD PILE WILL BE REMOVED.

My trailer is currently under my boat in the Dinghy park (B19) but I am soon going to rig the boat for the summer and move the trailer to the trailer park. The trailer is new and therefore very road worthy and I will paint my sail number on it for ID but can you just confirm what colour sticker I need to put on the right?? wheel hub. I get the impression it is green but where does the number come from? :?

Hi Colin
Good to see people using the Forum 8-)

The permit stickers are in the Club House hung up on the Bosun's Board in a plain brown wrapper. They are old boat permits with the date cut off, so there is a number already on it. There are only green one's in the envelope as I am hoping that from now on only 'good' trailers will be left on the trailer park. Thanks very much. Abby
